My family and i will never ever visit China whilst their abusive cruel barbaric ways continue. New laws need to be put in place, they are living in the dark ages, i will spread the word to boycott this country until things improve. I hear a new heartbreaking thing every day about China This place is hell on earth for animals. The world will be watching China they need to start initiating animal protection laws. It could be a beautiful country but this blights it tremendously. Why are they so cruel to our fellow beings who feel pain as much as us, i think they need a taste of their own medicine.

Hi Lesley,
This is a quote from the Chinese ambassador to London, back in 2005, when asked to comment on a documentary by Sir Paul McCartney which exposed the vile fur farms in China:
“Though cats and dogs are not endangered, we do not encourage the ill treatment of cats and dogs.
“But, anyway, the fur trade mostly feeds markets in the US and Europe. Most of this fur is not for the Chinese market. So the Americans and Europeans should accept the blame.
“We have no plans to clamp down on this internally that I am aware of – it is for the US and Europeans to take their own action. They should boycott fur as a fashion material."
A cold, stark, emotionless statement.
They just don't seem to care.
Thanks for your comment.

I believe that emotion has been bred out of the Chinese people, they don't care about anything. I cannot understand why they want to have a child, because they don't feel love, just some kind of instinctive duty. To me they are dullards who have no capacity to feel anything. They claim a long civilised history, yet they can treat dogs and cats in such barbaric fashion that I cannot believe they ever respected any living beings. And this unspeakable cruelty is encouraged by the West - not so long ago the Americans were hunting down 'reds', now they import fur-trimmed clothing from the very people whose philosophy they despised. Stop the imports, stop the cruelty.

Hi Laureen,
Thanks very much for taking the time to comment. Your thoughts really resonate with me, especially the fact that we both find comfort in sending affection in kind to the millions of abused animals which never experience a kind word or action from humans.

Here here! I will never set foot in any Asian country, nor will any of my family members. To visit a country that slaughters animals in open markets and so cruely is so barbaric. I cannot believe that people still wear fur. There are a number of fashion designers who still use real fur. Gross. Will not support these designers and I have spread the word to my friends and family members. It is unfortunately too difficult to avoid purchasing any product that originated from China as products are sold in whole to other countries and then mislabled as being "made in Italy" or elsewhere. Yes, it it is hard to put yourself in the mind of the uneducated farmers who "murder" thousands of animals in their lifetime. I would not want to! I just go home, and give my puppies extra hugs and kisses and make wishes that all animals could be loved as much and treated in kind.
